About

This blog documents the day-to-day things I face in my dedication to painting.

My passion is painting in acrylics and drawing. I am currently focusing on the sea and really love the tussle of ‘capturing’ water and light – two endlessly moving elements! Tough stuff.

I write from an artist’s perspective but look forward to hearing comments from art lovers, artists and people interested in art. There are all sorts of interesting side-issues associated with making art and some of those are included here.

My current blogging pattern is divided unevenly between www.philipparobert.com and seascapes aus. While I publish two posts a week on my website, I plan to continue monthly with seascapes aus. I really appreciate your comments, support and conversations and hope to stay in touch!

You should be aware that I will remove any spam and any material that is offensive or defamatory.

  1. Hi and thanks for taking time to comment on my photo blog. I love all that I have seen of urban knitting but sadly there is little here in Sheffield. There are some great links to urban knitting sites on my two blog menus. You have some interesting posts on Seascapes Aus. I look forward to seeing more of your work. Best wishes and happy blogging, PC

    1. Happy new year Philippa! I am new to your blog and have had a cursory look so far, and would like to congratulate you on the range and quality of your paintings, both acrylic and drawn. What wonderful seascapes you are able to conjure and convey to the beholder via your paintings and photos! Thank you.

Thank you for sharing your oeuvres so well on your beautiful blog through your paintings.

May the new year bring you and your family plenty of happiness, good health, peace and harmony!

I hope that you continue to do very well and find fulfillment in whatever you enjoy doing and savouring in 2013, bringing more paintings to life, even venturing into new formats and styles.

I see that we both share Lois and John Clinock as friends. Lous and I share our interests in music, food and writing; whereas John and I share our fascinations in/with art and painting, as can be demonstrated at http://soundeagle.wordpress.com/2013/01/06/soundeagle-in-john-clinocks-art-rat-cafe/.

      Cheers!

      1. Thank you Sound Eagle! I see you are from one of my favourite cities – Brisbane. I had your page open overnight – was distracted but will listen and look further! thanks for your beautiful comments too. Philippa

      2. You are very welcome, Philippa!

I hope that you will find something to your liking and even amusement at SoundEagle’s blog.

It is searingly hot now reaching mid 30s. Winter is sorely missed!

      3. Adelaide slightly cooler today – after 43 on Thursday everything lower seems cool! Not the Brisbane humidity though which drives up the ‘feels like’ temp.

    1. Yes, it is a fascinating work, both as a film and as a developing mural and story. I shared it on facebook. It is lovely to see such looseness in a mural, they can get so ‘tight’ in the process of transferring to the big wall. Thanks for posting it, PC. I will keep an eye on your site. Regards, Philippa

      1. Hi Phillipa, The Jo Peel video is fantastic and I’m not sure I can get my head around what it takes to produce something as complex as that. There is a list of credits at the end and i’m sure they had a part to play but the art work and it’s animation is from the mind of a genius. I love Jo’s work and others that are involved in the Scrawl Collective. I noticed that you have subscribed to Postcard Cafe and it’s good to have you on board. I look forward to seeing more of your work on Seascapes. Best wishes, PC
