A recent trip to Inverness revealed an entirely different side to the city from the one we saw on our last trip. This time we were lucky enough to stay at Ardgarry BnB and were advised by our host to try the Ness Island Walk.
The ring route takes about 2 hours depending upon the starting point, but within 20 minutes walk from the Greig Street Bridge we were in woodland beside the fast running River Ness.
There are plenty of things to see on the banks of the river, but the islands offer a complete retreat from the built environment….well, almost.
The most exciting discovery of the walk was the sculptural seating nestled in quiet spots among the trees.
